TIPS & RECIPES

Starting a decarboxylated CBD treatment

Are you hearing about the benefits of CBD everywhere and wondering if it's right for you? We will try to help you see things more clearly.

What is CBD?

In common language, CBD refers to cannabis without THC, but CBD, like THC, are cannabinoids .

These molecules produced by the hemp plant, whatever their mode of absorption, activate the receptors present throughout the human body, thus forming the endocannabinoid system (ES). These receptors transmit various signals in the body, acting for example in the brain to regulate mood or appetite, and in the digestive system to balance its motor skills. There are currently around 100 different cannabinoids listed, each with their own chemical mechanisms.

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), widely known but controversial due to its recreational use, causes a euphoric and disinhibition effect. Its production and consumption are prohibited in France. In contrast, CBD (cannabidiol) has recently attracted attention for its many alleged therapeutic effects, without psychoactive effects or risk of dependence. In the form of drops, oil or flowers, CBD is known for its benefits against anxiety, sleep disorders and certain chronic inflammations.

Other lesser-known cannabinoids are studied by the scientific community for their properties and effects on the human body. For example, CBN (cannabinol) has soothing and sedative properties, while CBG (cannabigerol) has anti-inflammatory effects and may act on appetite and certain eye diseases. CBC (cannabichromene) fights inflammation while providing overall analgesic relief, and may also be beneficial for those suffering from depression.

Thus, the term “cannabinoids” actually encompasses a multitude of molecules with varied effects on health and well-being.

For who? For what?

Knowing that the human body has its own endocannabinoid system makes it easy to understand that our reactions to these molecules will not be homogeneous. If you think you can find relief for one of your concerns, it is necessary to test the product you have chosen over several days. Even in infusion (and it's the same for your chamomile😉), the benefits cannot be felt if consumption is sporadic.

Finally, if I summarize the effects of the different molecules and the products offered at Ty Louzou I can advise you to start with a 20-day treatment in a hot drink.

Tatanka has a CBD level of 9% and a CBG level of 2%. It is an indica dominant strain who can accompany you to relieve your pain and help you get to sleep.

Bubble Gum has a CBD level of 14%. It is a hybrid strain, 50% indica and 50% sativa. It can bring you benefits in cases of depression, anxiety or attention disorders.

It is a plant that can become your faithful friend but it is up to each person to learn how to tame it according to their personality. This advice can in no way replace medical treatment. More and more doctors are open to discussion on the subject, do not hesitate to talk about it with yours.

The dosage

The first important thing to know is that the risk of overdose with decarboxylated CBD is minimal. Firstly because you consume the pure plant and not a mixture or distillate which is not always safe. Then because the levels of the different molecules are stabilized and will not change upon possible cooking.

A simple way to start could be a hot drink treatment.

Whether you are a fan of infusions, tea, loose or in bags, coffee, hot milk... everything is possible. However, a basic principle should not be overlooked: although decarboxylated, cannabinoids will be better deployed and thus absorbed if you infuse them lightly in a fatty substance before use.

What does this mean in concrete terms?

Put a small teaspoon of Ty Louzou CBD (0.5g) in a cup. Pour over a teaspoon (or more depending on your taste) of a fatty substance (animal or vegetable milk, oil). Cover with a splash of hot water and leave to infuse for 5 minutes. Add your usual tea or infusion if you wish before pouring in the rest of hot water (or coffee, hot milk, etc.)

You can consume this drink 1 to 3 times a day depending on your needs. For consumption in the morning, choose Bubble Gum which will give you the energy you need for the day.
